5th OCtober at the patch

Horsham Urban Landcare are excited to bring Ammie Jackson to Horsham for a full day of garden-related workshops! We'll be offering an edible weed workshop, sauerkraut making and sourdough making. Come along for a half day or a full day. Workshops will be held at The Patch Community Garden and the Salvation Army Hall. Discount available for Landcare members.

Schedule for the day:

10:30 - 12: Sauerkraut and Sourdough workshop

12-1: Lunch

1 - 3:30: Edible Weeds.

A bit about Ammie:

Ammie has a life-long love of plants and has been teaching edible weeds workshops for over 10 years. She has a passion for encouraging biodiversity into all of our systems, even our gut-flora, so it was a natural progression to get into fermenting foods. Workshops on probiotics, with demonstrations on how to make sourdough, sauerkraut and kombucha have been hugely popular in the last few years.

Ammie has studied conservation and land management, and permaculture, and has worked in the NRM industry since 2005. She is currently a Landcare Facilitator based in the Macedon Ranges.

Youth Nature Crew enjoyed connecting with frogs
March 28, 2025
Youth Nature Crew enjoyed an incursion from "Fair Dinkum Fauna" and met their froggy friends. Participants learnt all about frogs, played a game to learn frog calls, and went searching for frogs at the Police Paddock. Youth Nature Crew is for young people 10-18 years old who are interested in nature and the outdoors. Activities are generally after school and on school holidays. If you are keen to be a part of our next Youth Nature Crew session, let us know via https://forms.office.com/r/4zx4jZx21c
